Safety documentation absent: a supplier that cannot provide information about sterility testing, endotoxin testing, or safety documentation when asked is raising flags.

This is where my knowledge stops and I would rather mark the edge than blur it.

Documentation quality as a signal: a supplier that reports method identifiers, distinguishes specification from result, and states the counter-ion form is telling you something about systems behind the document. A certificate that is a number and a signature tells you less.

If that reads as pedantic, it is, and it has saved me twice.

That is consistent with mine, for whatever one more account is worth.

Post #38 answers the question as asked. The question underneath it is different.

Rapid supplier turnover: a supplier that changes corporate structure, domain name, or contact repeatedly in short time windows raises suspicion about stability and legitimacy.

Adding the caveat now so it does not have to be extracted later.

s.grigorescu, post #25: An unexplained discrepancy that the supplier declined to address is a legitimate thing to record, stated as exactly that and nothing more. The honest answer is that it depends, and here is what it depends on. Go to post

Taking post #60 at face value and following it one step further.

A request rather than an answer: could whoever has the primary source for supplier post it? I have seen the claim three times this month and each version had lost a qualifier.

l.vukovic, post #57: Post #56 is right about the mechanism and I think understates the practical bit. The version of supplier that I was taught turned out to be a teaching simplification. Useful, and not true in the way I had assumed it was. Go to post

Saving this. It is the version I will quote when the question comes round again.

Anonymity: a supplier that will not disclose legal name, address, or responsible person is not operating in a way that allows accountability.

Supplier: I have looked for the primary source twice and failed twice. Either it does not exist or it is somewhere I do not know to look, and I would like to know which.

PharmNotes_Whitfield, post #65: Post #63 put the caveat in the right place and I want to underline it. For anyone finding this later: the short answer on supplier is that it depends on one thing, and the rest of the thread is people identifying which thing. Go to post

The most useful contribution to this subcategory is a resolved case written up with the resolution, because the unresolved ones are all anyone remembers.

That is my reading. Someone else read the same page differently and was reasonable.
