Posting this under the heading it deserves: Mood changes: monitoring, and when to involve a professional Everything below is what sits behind that.

Something that has come up for me and that I suspect is more common than the discussion suggests.

It is not a side effect in the labelling sense and it is not nothing. It has changed over 13 weeks in a direction I did not expect.

Nothing here is advice from me to anybody, and I would like to hear how other people have thought about it.

I would rather this thread reach "we do not know" about Mood changes than reach a confident answer that nobody can support when asked.

Answering the question post #2 raises rather than the one it answers.

Where medication for mental health is already in place, the interaction question belongs with a pharmacist and the mood question belongs with the prescriber.

The evidence for this is thinner than the way I have phrased it suggests.

Social and relationship impacts: weight change affects how others perceive and interact with a person. Those impacts are real and can be psychologically significant.

This is the version I would want a new member to read first.

I disagree with the framing of Mood changes above, and I think it is a substantive disagreement rather than a terminological one. Setting out why, so it can be checked.

The reasoning depends on an assumption that is doing a lot of work and is never stated. If the assumption holds, the conclusion follows. I do not think it holds generally.
