On seizure notice the community has more anecdote than the confidence in this thread implies, and I include my own contribution in that.
Post #9 and I disagree about the size of the effect, not about the direction.
Import restrictions by jurisdiction: what is legal to import for personal use varies enormously by country. Some jurisdictions are quite permissive; others are not. Checking your own country's rules before ordering is prudent.
Adding a reference point for seizure notice. Mine is a single case, collected without controls, and I am posting the method alongside it so it can be discounted appropriately.
Taking post #31 at face value and following it one step further.
Two claims get bundled together under seizure notice and they need separating. The descriptive one — this is what was observed — is usually well supported. The causal one — this is why — usually is not.
Almost every disagreement in threads like this one dissolves once you say which of the two you are making.
On post #35 — agreed on the reasoning, with one qualification.
Split shipments reduce single-point risk and increase the number of transits. Which trade is right depends on what you are protecting against.
