Second pass at: Identical chromatograms across two different lots posts 91–94

This is a continuation of a long topic, addressed by post number rather than by page. Start at post 1.

k.adeyemi, post #66: Post #64 and I disagree about the size of the effect, not about the direction. My position on Identical chromatograms is current rather than settled. I have revised it once already and I expect to again, so treat it accordingly. Go to post

Everything in post #89 holds. The case it does not cover is the one I have.

Where somebody posts a concern, ask what would resolve it before arguing about it. Half of these threads end with a document nobody had asked for.

The disagreement above is smaller than it looks once the terms are fixed.

h.mukherjee, post #46: Worth separating two things that post #42 runs together. Keep the two claims separate. "The result on this lot did not match the certificate" is a report that can be checked. "This supplier is dishonest" is an allegation about intent and nothing in a chromatogram supports it. The claim is narrower than it sounds, and deliberately so. Go to post

Identical chromatograms has a well-known answer and a correct answer, and the interesting work is establishing that they are the same. Nobody has done that here yet.

A document with no method identification is not evidence of anything wrong. It is evidence that the document cannot be checked, which is a different and weaker statement.

Building on post #93 rather than restating it.

The claim about Identical chromatograms upthread is stronger than its source supports. I have read the source. The source says "associated with" and the post says "causes".

Moved from Logistics by bench_notes. Category placement is not obvious from outside and getting it wrong is expected. This topic will get better answers here. The move is recorded in the public log citing R7.
