My experience of Transporting a vial contradicts the reply above. I am posting it as a data point rather than as a refutation, because one person's experience is exactly that.

Temperature excursions in transit are common and are not all equal. A few hours warm is a different event from three days warm, and neither is visible in the vial on arrival.
This is where my knowledge stops and I would rather mark the edge than blur it.

Where I part company with post #39, and it is a narrow parting.
Vial integrity: once a vial is entered with a needle repeatedly, the rubber closure degrades and the integrity fails. Using the same vial repeatedly over weeks or months carries increasing risk of contamination. Single-use vials entered once are lowest risk.
Stating my assumptions rather than smuggling them in.

Protecting from light: amber vials or opaque containers reduce light exposure. If you are storing for long periods and light matters, this is worth doing. For short-term prepared solutions, ordinary storage away from direct sunlight is usually adequate.
That is the shape of it. The detail is where I would expect to be corrected.
Post #43 describes the usual case. This is about the unusual one.
Trying to state the Transporting a vial position in a way that someone who disagrees would recognise as fair, because I do not think the version in this thread passes that test.
Container choice matters: the material of the vial, the rubber closure, the fill volume all affect how quickly the contents degrade. Smaller fill volumes lose less to adsorption. Glass vials lose less to leaching than plastics.
Someone should write this up properly, and it should probably not be me.
An honest declaration on Transporting a vial: I have a prior here and it is strong enough that you should weight what I say downward. Stating it rather than hiding it.

I read post #47 twice before replying, because I had assumed the opposite.
Dating prepared solutions: write the date reconstitution on the vial in permanent marker. If you later need to know whether it has been sitting for weeks or days, the date tells you. Guessing on this is where errors accumulate.
