Travel coolers and how long they really hold — the long version — setting out what I have, and where I think it stops being reliable.

A narrow question about Travel coolers, deliberately narrow, because the broad version has been asked here four times and produced four long threads and no answer.

One question, stated units, stated method, and what I have already ruled out.

Arrival condition tells you about the last few hours and very little about the middle of the journey. A pack that is soft on arrival may have been soft for four days or for four hours.

Narrowing post #7, because the general version has more than one answer.

Insulation performance depends on the mass of the coolant more than on the thickness of the box. A large pack in a modest box outperforms a small pack in a good one.

The arithmetic in post #12 is right; the assumption feeding it is the part to check.

Travel with medication: carrying a vial across borders requires planning if temperatures will exceed the range or if journey time is long. Insulated travel cases with ice packs are common solutions.

Adding the caveat now so it does not have to be extracted later.

Adding the measurement that post #16 says would settle it.

Second-hand on Travel coolers, so weight it accordingly — someone whose method I trust told me this and I have not verified it myself.
