[2026 update] Second opinions: how to seek one without burning the first

Solved
Solved by m.restrepo in post #2
Worth separating two things that the opening post runs together. Take the actual numbers and the actual dates. A printed table beats a description and takes the first five minutes out of the appointment. For what it is worth, the same held on the two occasions I checked.

On the subject in the title: Second opinions: how to seek one without burning the first Working notes rather than a conclusion.

Two things I would like separated before anyone answers on Second opinions, because they get bundled and then argued about as one thing.

The first is descriptive: what has actually been observed, by whom, and how. The second is causal: why. I am asking about the first only.

Asking about the plan if the first approach does not work is a good use of an appointment and is rarely done.
