I think the electrolyte supplements question is answerable and has not been answered, which is a more optimistic position than most of this thread.
Electrolyte supplements: which ones do anything
Where a laboratory result exists, quoting it with the reference interval makes the discussion tractable. Without it the thread is guesswork.
Noting that I have skin in this question and have tried to discount for it.
I had written a reply contradicting post #15 and deleted it. Here is what survived.
Electrolyte supplements is worth one more sentence than it usually gets, and the sentence is the one about how the number was arrived at.
I had read the opposite somewhere and cannot now find where, which tells me something.
I read post #33 twice before replying, because I had assumed the opposite.
Cramping is the symptom most confidently attributed to electrolytes and has the weakest evidence linking it to them.
That is the practical version. The rigorous version is longer and says the same thing.
Nothing here is medical advice and electrolyte questions in the context of a genuine deficit belong with a clinician rather than a forum.
