Follow-up: A parcel that arrived warm: a decision process, not a verdict

This is a generated summary. It shows the 9 most-liked posts from a topic of 60, in their original order, with the accepted answer included where one exists. It is a reading aid and it will miss nuance — the full topic is the record.

ro.zielinski, post #2: Clarity is a weak test. A solution can lose a significant fraction of its active content to degradation or adsorption while remaining perfectly clear. Reading it again, the caveat matters more than the finding. Go to post

Visible particulate is a strong signal in the other direction: it is a reason to stop and ask rather than to filter and proceed.

It reads as pedantry until the day it does not.

Happy to expand any of that if it is the useful part.

micrograms, post #5: Post #4 is the version of this I will quote in future. One addition. Clarity is a weak test. A solution can lose a significant fraction of its active content to degradation or adsorption while remaining perfectly clear. Go to post

Adding a source would improve this post and I do not have one to hand.

That reframing is the whole thing. The facts I already had.

Coming back to post #20, because the follow-up matters more than the original answer.

Visible particulate is a strong signal in the other direction: it is a reason to stop and ask rather than to filter and proceed.

I have changed my mind on this once already, so take it as current rather than settled.

Building on post #35 rather than restating it.

Nothing above should be read as advice about what anyone else should do.

Post #48 is right about the mechanism and I think understates the practical bit.

Temperature excursions in transit are common and are not all equal. A few hours warm is a different event from three days warm, and neither is visible in the vial on arrival.

l.chevalier, post #32: I will take the caveat as seriously as the claim, which is the point of putting it there. Go to post

The arithmetic in post #53 is right; the assumption feeding it is the part to check.

Visible particulate is a strong signal in the other direction: it is a reason to stop and ask rather than to filter and proceed.
