What a statistical analysis plan adds that the paper does not I have a specific reason for asking rather than idle curiosity, and the context is below.

A follow-up question about statistical analysis plan that I did not know to ask the first time.

The earlier thread answered what I asked. What I should have asked is below, and I think it is the one that matters.

The figure that circulates in coverage is almost always whichever estimand gives the larger effect. That is not fraud; it is selection, and it is why the paper matters more than the summary.

That matches what I was told, which is not the same as knowing it.
