What other technical communities get right that we do not — that is the question, and I have not found it answered plainly anywhere I have looked.
A digression I have been saving for the right category.
It is not useful and it is not a question. It is the kind of observation that would derail a technical topic and is perfectly at home here.
Lower-stakes conversation that does not belong in the technical categories. Still civil, still sourced when a claim is made, but the bar for relevance is lower.
A weak preference rather than a position.
Community norms: if you want to discuss how the community should work (not moderation decisions, which go in Meta) the Lounge is a place for that casual discussion.
That matches what I was told, which is not the same as knowing it.
Analytics first, in my case, and I still find the practice category the harder read. Chromatography has one right answer more often than logistics does.
Adding the caveat now so it does not have to be extracted later.
Personal stories: if you want to talk about what led you to this compound, your journey, or how the change has affected your life, the Lounge is the place for that.
