One caution on comparing documentation quality: everything above assumes the underlying documentation is what it claims to be. That assumption is doing real work and is rarely stated.

This follows post #3 rather than contradicting it.

Multiple services on one lot: agreement across two independent laboratories is stronger than a high number from one. Our vendor pages deliberately mix services for that reason.

Pattern across lots: a single result is a data point. Three or four results from the same supplier showing a consistent pattern becomes a record worth discussing. Two results that disagree might just be measurement variation.

It is the kind of thing that is obvious once and never again.

Taking post #7 at face value and following it one step further.

Comparing documentation quality was covered in the wiki last year and the page has a review date on it, which is a better starting point than my memory of a thread.
