Fluid intake and electrolyte intake are separate questions and drinking more water alone can make a dilutional problem worse.

Not the answer, but possibly the question that gets there.

Fluid intake: baseline needs increase with gastrointestinal effects and exercise. Thirst is not a reliable guide during appetite suppression. Drinking regularly (not just when thirsty) is prudent.

It is worth stating the boring hypothesis before the interesting one.

Commercial rehydration formulations are designed for a specific purpose and are not equivalent to a sports drink, whatever the marketing suggests.

Somebody will have a better source than mine, and I hope they post it.

Vomiting and diarrhoea lose fluid and electrolytes together, and replacing only fluid is what turns a short illness into a longer problem.

It is worth checking rather than assuming, which costs nothing.

Where there is a genuine question, a measurement answers it and a supplement does not. Blood tests for the common electrolytes are routine and cheap.
