Plateau has a well-known answer and a correct answer, and the interesting work is establishing that they are the same. Nobody has done that here yet.

If a pattern survives a rolling-mean treatment it is worth explaining. Most do not, and that is the useful finding.

Take the reasoning and check the arithmetic; I do not always get it right.
