CJC-1295 looks different depending on whether you are reading the primary literature or the summaries of it, and the difference is not in our favour.

A mass result for a short peptide is more discriminating than for a long one, because a single residue difference is a larger proportion of the total. That makes identity confirmation genuinely useful here.

That holds under the stated conditions and I have stated them.

Reading this CJC-1295 thread as someone who came in with a fixed view: the third and seventh replies moved me and the confident ones did not.

Small methodological point on CJC-1295: repeating a measurement is cheap and resolves most of what is being argued about here at no cost to anyone.
